Tor Lara, also known as The Tower of the Gull, rises above all the other structures on Thanedd Island. On the highest floor of the tower is Benavent's portal, a notoriously unstable portal.
After the coup on the island, Ciri escaped using this portal but because of its nature, the girl was ejected in mid-air over the Korath desert.
