Upper Sodden is the southern part of the former kingdom of Sodden, the area around the Yaruga river between Cintra, Brugge and Riverdell. In the aftermath of the Nilfgaard Wars, Sodden was split between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms into Upper Sodden and the Lower Sodden.
After the split, Upper Sodden became part of the Nilfgaard province of Cintra, but not everyone was happy, and an anti-Nilfgaard group was born in the Slopes.
