Walter Beda[1] was a priest in the position of the Novigrad's hierarch during the middle of the 12th century. He was a religious authority in the North.
Biography[]
In ca. 1140, after the conflict between Redania, Kaedwen and Kovir and Poviss ended, Walter sailed on Redanian flagship Alata along with King Radovid III and King Benda to Lan Exeter, where they discussed treaty between the three realms with Gedovius Troyden and his wife Gemma. Hierarch accompanied crowned heads as a neutral mediator. He was astonished after witnessing that Kovir is not a backwater as was thought.[2]
