This article is about the merchants who walk the roads. For the merchant who moves his stand, see Moving merchant. |

Throughout the Pontar region (Velen and Novigrad areas), there are several merchants constantly roaming the roads in an attempt to cover sparsely populated areas. Commonly referred to as wandering, but also known as traveling merchants, their appearances may vary each time they are seen, and although encountered at different spots, all offer the same goods for sale as well - mostly alchemy ingredients.
The Mire[]
This merchant starts his walk at Claywich, taking the western (wider on the map) road to Oreton, until he reaches the thinner shortcut road north of the village and takes that, turning around when he reaches the huts. At night, he likes to rest at the campfire by a small boulder just south of Claywich, or at another campfire by Oreton.
Battlefield[]
This merchant walks along the war-ravaged roads east of Oxenfurt, from the eastern gate of Stonecutters' Settlement, through the Redanian military camp and then north a short distance on the road (to a point exactly east of the Codgers' Quarry signpost), where going further would put him in danger from nearby monsters.
Grassy Knoll[]
There are two wandering merchants in the Grassy Knoll:
- On the western side, starting from a campfire next to Lucian's Windmill (where he also spends the night) and follows the road northeast to Farcorners until Portside Gate, and then east about halfway to Glory Gate before turning back around.
- On the eastern side, starting from a campfire at the hut southeast of Cunny of the Goose (where he also spends the night) and going south almost until reaching the wyvern guarded treasure, where he turns to follow the road west turning around at the first crossroads past the small hut with a rotfiend monster nest, at a point south from Drahim Castle. If the nest isn't cleared yet though, he'll stop before reaching it and after awhile turns around there.
Gustfields[]
Three merchants walk the roads in the Gustfields:
- Between Sarrasin Grange and the unmarked trading camp southeast of Yantra, which he passes through.
- Between Dancing Windmill and the small bridge just past Yanina's hut, almost reaching Honeyfill Meadworks.
- Between Winespring Grange and Moldavie Residence, walking the circle between the two buildings.
With the Hearts of Stone expansion, a fourth one appears at the crossroads north of Martin Feuille's Farmstead, where he likes to rest by a fire at night, and during the day walks until the arch that marks the border of Brunwich, before turning around.
Notes[]
- Prior to Patch 4.0, these merchants had the Trader label instead.
- Despite most appearing in Novigrad areas, all of them are considered Velen merchants for pricing purposes.
Bugs[]
- Wandering merchants are especially prone to the impossible to trade bug.
