Wiedźmin (English: The Witcher) is Andrzej Sapkowski's first book to be published in Poland (published by Reporter in 1990) but is now out of print. All of the short stories featuring witcher Geralt of Rivia contained in this book were later published in The Last Wish, the short story collection that replaced Wiedźmin as the first part of The Witcher series, making this book obsolete.
Aside from the witcher stories, this book also contains "Droga, z której się nie wraca", a story about Geralt's mother, Visenna, which takes place decades before the Witcher stories. This story, while not included in The Last Wish, was later published in the Something Ends, Something Begins collection.
Stories included[edit | edit source]
- Droga, z której się nie wraca (A Road with No Return)
- A Question of Price (Kwestia ceny)
- A Grain of Truth (Ziarno prawdy)
- The Lesser Evil (Mniejsze zło)
- The Witcher (Wiedźmin)
