Wolven Hour

Wolven Hour is a potion in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt added by error that temporarily lowers all level requirements for equipping items by 2.

It was added as a follow-up to changes made in error which scaled up the level requirements for certain items and thus rendered them unusable for many players. The potion was automatically added to the player inventory upon installation of patch 1.08, and is also automatically added to all new games started on 1.08 and any subsequent game versions.

Uniquely among potions in Wild Hunt, Wolven Hour cannot be replenished and may only be consumed once, as it was originally intended to be used in conjunction with locked-out items until the player had sufficiently levelled up to use them without the potion.

Notes

• This potion cannot be replenished except through another playthrough.

Tips

• A good time to use this potion is when doing The Isle of Mists quest, as services of blacksmiths and armorers will be unavailable for a while, which means upgrading witcher gear will also be impossible. Thus it is a good idea to upgrade your gear prior and then drink this potion in order to whield it 2 levels early.
